Taehyung sat under the mandap, finally living the moment he had dreamed of his entire life.
Today, Jungkook would become his.
His heart pounded in anticipation, his eyes glued to the doorway from where the bride would arrive.
The priest continued chanting and guiding Taehyung through the rituals.
And then, after what felt like an eternity, the moment came.
The priest called for the bride.
There she was.
Jungkook stepped into the temple. She looked beautiful-adorned in gold jewelry and flowers, her long braid swaying behind her.
But her beauty couldn't hide what was in her eyes-fear.
Her hands trembled slightly. Her chest tightened. This wasn't just a marriage. To him, it is a curse.
he sat beside Taehyung, careful not to touch him.
Taehyung, on the other hand, couldn't take his eyes off him. he looked like a goddess to him.
Jiminie , standing just behind him, smiled proudly and gently tapped his shoulder, pulling him out of his daze.
He leaned forward and tied mangalastura around kookie's neck with trembling fingers, staring deep into his eyes.
'Mine. Forever,' he thought.
Jungkook didn't meet his gaze.
"Just a few months," he whispered to herself in his mind.
"Just a few months, then I'll be free."
Flash back...
It had been thirty days since Taehyung's grandmother passed away. he had been the only one who truly loved him, cared for him, waited for him at the door, and pampered him like a mother would.
His father, Namjoon, was equally devastated. Despite being married for decades, his wife had never shown affection-neither to him nor to their son.
Jiminie was shattered by the loss of her mother. .
Taehyung, who had once been eager to marry Jungkook, now sat in silence. The grief still hung too heavy on his chest for him to think clearly about marriage.
Jiminie thought about marriage -hoping that his son would bring warmth into Taehyung life and fill the empty space.
Jungkook's eyes widened. His heart raced.
Jungkook lay beside his mother.
"Mama what's the hurry for the marriage now? I want to do my master's. Please... at least wait for three years. I'll complete it by then," he said gently.
But he reply. "You can still do it after marriage.
Jungkook swallowed hard. His voice cracked as he whispered, "But Mama... I'm scared when I'm around Taehyung oppa."
"You know how deeply Taehyung loves you. Can't you see it? Can't you feel it?
Jimin took his hand gently and continued, "What are you so afraid of? Taehyung isn't a stranger. Don't be scared of him, kook. Try to understand him."
Jimin lay still, unable to respond. he knew how much his mother loved tae-more than his own children at times.
Jungkook slowly drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, as tae was getting ready for his day, a soft knock came at the door.
He opened it.
To his surprise, it was Jungkook.
"Come in," he said gently, stepping aside.
he stood a few feet away and began hesitantly, "That is... you know... they're talking about the wedding."
Tae's eyes lit up. "Yes, kook," he said, his voice warm. "The day I've waited for all my life."
"But... I don't want to marry you."
Why?" he asked, his tone low.
"I don't want to live in a village... and I want to study more, settle in the city," he said softly.
Taehyung's temper began to rise. His jaw clenched.
"Study more? What's the point of that?" he snapped. "Look-I only finished school, and I'm still capable of running all our businesses. So forget all this and just get ready for the marriage."
"Please," he said, his voice trembling, "cancel this wedding."
Tae looked at him for a long moment.
He softened his voice and said, "Okay, kook. You know how our family is. I can't go against him."
Kook frowned. That didn't make sense. Taehyung never obeyed anyone-not even his father.
He gently took his hand in his.
"Kook , If you need time, take it. I'll wait."
he shook his head. "No... I don't want to live here. I don't like this place."
He exhaled slowly. "Alright. Let's get married first-and then we'll see how things go. If you're still unhappy... I promise, I won't stop you from leaving. We'll part ways, legally"
Jungkook's breath caught at his proposal.
His voice was calm. His words were soft.
It confused him. he wanted to believe him. But he also wanted to run.
he looked at him, uncertain. What if he was lying? What if this was a trap? What if he never let her go?
And before he realized it, he whispered, "Okay..."
A quiet, shaky agreement.
he told herself it was just for now. Just for a few months. If he wanted a divorce later, surely Taehyung would agree.
he convinced himself he was safe.
But what kook didn't realize was that he had just stepped into a carefully built trap. One that didn't come with locks or chains-but with promises, manipulation... and no way out.
Flashback ends...
